Seasonal Gardening.

Potted bulbs are in. so if you missed planting bulbs in the autumn you can plant the potted ones now.

We are now starting to get in this seasons range of seeds. This year we are going big on grow your own.

So we are going to have a large range of Suttons  Vegetable, fruit and herb seeds, which will include an organic collection by Alan Titchmarsh and a speedy veg range which can be harvested in  2 - 10 weeks.

We will also have a full range of Franchi seeds (seeds of Italy).  And a New range by  Mr. Fothergills called vegetable explorer.

The majority of vegetable seeds can be sown in February.

It’s still really cold outside so don’t forget the birds still need some extra help by providing bird food and fresh water (not frozen). 

Some of you in the local area would have notice we now have red wings visiting our gardens. These are winter migrants so providing a regular food source will allow you to enjoy them a little longer. They like to feed on meal worms and a berry suet feast. At the Secret Garden they have also been feeding on the Pyracantha and the Cotoneaster  hedges.
